PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Curriculum/ Programming: Tailored content and bi-weekly lessons are the foundation for scaling the venture capital learning curve. Seasoned investors and industry experts will provide nuanced guidance and insights.

Individualized Mentorship: Participants are paired with senior-level and junior-level venture capital professionals for mentorship. Weekly mentor check-ins enable BiV participants to receive guidance and coaching as they design their personal roadmap into venture capital, learn about the venture capital industry, and build their network.

Project-Based Learning: Thesis building and hands-on learning is designed to help refine industry prospectives and apply weekly learnings.

Ideal candidates have 1–5 years of full-time work experience, are actively looking to transition into VC, and do not have active VC offers when filling out the application.

Who should apply?
The Breaking into Venture program is designed for early-career professionals (1-5 years experience) looking to break into the venture capital industry. If you're a student we encourage you to check out the programs below:

What is the time commitment?
The Breaking into Venture program is a 9-week commitment with 4-5 hours per week. Sessions are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM PST (5:00 PM - 6:00 PM EST), with pre-readings assigned and mentor meetings occurring weekly.

Can I apply to Breaking into Venture if I'm outside of the US?
Our program is currently limited to U.S.-based participants.

Where will sessions be held?
Our sessions will be 100% remote. This gives you the flexibility to be a part of our community regardless of where you are in the U.S.

What does a typical BiV session look like?
Breaking into Venture leverages experts in the venture capital industry to teach you the fundamentals of venture capital. Sessions will combine lecture-style teachings, guided discussions, speaker series, and group activities.

Do I have to pay for this program?
No. At BLCK VC, we aim to make venture capital as accessible as possible. The program is free for you. We invest time, energy, and resources into making our program great and ask that you commit to giving the program your 100%.
